I am anxiously awaiting the November release of the Treo 650. It
seems to have almost everything I need, but I can't find a voice
recorder on any of the published descriptions. Is there a way to
    record voice memos? Thanks.

You can do that on the Treo 600, using SoundRec (google: treo soundrec),
so I see no reason why you couldn't do it on the 650. Get a decent
sized SD card (512M for under $50, these days), and you can record an
    awful lot of voice.

Have you ever used Sound Rec with Dragon Naturally Speaking? I would
like to use the 650 to dictate memos but Dragon doesn't list it as a
    verified tool for that purspose.

No, I've never found any sound transcriber to be worth the time.
Touch-typing is still faster than speech recognition, after all the
    manual error correction required.

In any event, SoundRec appears to generate .wav files. They seem to be
sufficiently compatible that they play back just fine on my Windows
machine. I don't know how many flavors of wav files there are...
