You need to fix your mailer. You've sent out everything twice and
three times.

That is unless Nextel employees want to move to India. Sprint has a large
chunk of its customer service there.

for text messages to be turned off they told him that they would have to
turn off his voice mail. what crap

He worked there for a week. What were you expecting them to do, pay him
out a year's salary?

How much of that was due to being in the right place at the right
time as opposed to being due to the job hunt training?
I was laid of by a large ISP three years ago and also received
job hunt training, but it didn't do a bit of good. There were
no tech job openings within my commute area, and I couldn't
move away or my wife would have lost a good job.

AIUI, Nextel has little in the way of call centers as it is; either
all or a rather large portion of Nextel (Communications -- dunno about
Partners) CS is outsourced (note I didn't say "offshored"), and a lot
of Nextel's CS calls are answered in Canada.
AFAIK, SPCS and Nextel are the only two major carriers to outsource CS
in any sigificant way; T-Mobile and VZW provide CS almost exclusively
through company-owned, domestic call centers (they may use outsource
centers for overflow during busy times), and I believe that Cingular
does as well, except for "AT&T Wireless"/"Cingular Blue" prepaid CS,
which got offshored about a year ago. Guess which two carriers
generally gets highest marks for CS -- yup, TMO and VZW. Hmm...

How much did "right place at the right time" only happen due to
training?
