anyone know of a shortcut you can set or another quicker way to lock the
keypad on a 4920. I know you can do it through security, but it's too many
steps every time you want to do it, is there a key sequence or one to just
hold and lock it like other phones?

Well, you can hit the MENU/OK button and then hit '9', and that's only two
buttons, but I did it differently to make it only ONE keystroke.

    Hit the MENU/OK button. Hit '6' <Settings>. Hit '9' <Others>. Move down
and highlight MY SHORTCUT. Hit MENU/OK twice. Now select 'Key Guard' and
    hit MENU/OK.

Now when you press the navigation button on the left side, it will lock
    your phone.

I'm a pretty "light" cellphone user, so I'm sure there's something more
useful that others use with that keypress, but I'm happy with it.

On the sanyo 4900 you just hold the back button and it will lock. The 4920
is very similar give it a try and see if it works.
