Numeric Paging Backdoor Number

I oversee the phone system at our corporation. I need to be able to send a
"numeric page" to Cingular, Sprint and Verizon phones without calling the
phone themselves when staff receive a voice mail on our corp vm system. I
have figured out how to do it on T-Mobile using their xxx-xxx-9999 backdoor
number and Nextel's xxx-xxx-PAGE number, but I can't figure out how to do it
on the other 3 networks. Anyone know how to do this? I appreciate your
help...coworkers are after me to figure out how to do this so they don't
have to carry numeric pagers anymore.

FYI to other users:

T-Mobile back door
First 6 digits of cell number followed with 9999 (xxx-xxx-9999)

Nextel back door
First 6 digits of cell number followed with PAGE (xxx-xxx-PAGE)

Sprint PCS has
First 6 digits of cell number followed with MAIL (xxx-xxx-MAIL)

but this only works with some prefixes in some markets, or you have to
use not your user's prefix but some other SPCS prefix in the same
market. And then, it asks you for a number and a PIN, so it's really
for checking your own messages, not leaving a message. And Sprint
doesn't recommend this method for retrieving your messages from a
landline. They recommend calling your own number and then pressing * at
your greeting.

Though if you programmed your corporate system to get into one user's
mailbox, you can send a message to another SPCS number's VM box using
main menu item 2.

Somewhat related, from a SPCS phone you can leave a voicemail for
another SPCS phone (or at least another served by the same switch) by
dialing 11 + their 10-digit number (total 12 digits). It goes right to
their voicemail greeting.

Brian - you're in Kansas City? Just go over to Sprint's HQ, knock on
their door, and ask them how to do it. :-)

There is the xxx-xxx-MAIL number for Sprint, but the interface isn't
standardized, so it varies from one switch to the next, and sometimes
it's not even enabled. The good news is that once you find a
xxx-xxx-MAIL number that works for Sprint, you can use it to send a
message to ANY Sprint PCS phone, regardless of their number.

Have you considered paging via modem, using a TAP line? Sprint PCS has
a dedicated toll free number(888.656.1727) where, using TAP software and
a computer with a dial-up modem, you can send text pages to Sprint PCS
phones.

An example of this software is NotePager (www.notepager.com). And an
advantage is that you don't have to limit yourself to numeric pages...
text pages can also be sent using this interface.

Verizon (866-823-0501), Cingular (800-469-5351), T-Mobile
(425-396-4560), and Nextel (800-201-2501) all have TAP numbers of their
own, so it would be possible to integrated phone from those carriers
into such a system as well.

Our corporate voicemail system will only dial and send touchtones. We do
use TAPI with some of our cell phones but the voicemail system will only
dial, pause, and then issue a string of touchtones.
