Where did you hear that? Do you have a cite or did you pull that
    funfact ou your ass?

A low end plan costs $40/mo and adds up to $480/yr
Who the hell even pays $100/year on accessories?
Buy a car charger, leather case, and perhaps a second battery and
you're done. $45-$100 spread over the life of the phone.

Are you one of those pathetic geeks with the flashing blue antenna, enough
other lights to make the phone totally unuseable and a spinning phone powered
    beanie propeller?

    Re: Want a new phone

I dunno...maybe I just got lucky with this. I've done the $150 upgrade
rebate now on 3 phones without any problems at all. All 3 were eligible at
the same time, I did the first one, mailed in the form, got the rebate check
in about 40 days. Went out, bought the next one. Took about the same length
of time for that check. Cashed that check went to Radio Shack and got
another new phone, processed that form and recieved the rebate check last
week. I mailed it in on Feb 21. So whats that? 38-39 days?
So since December I've got three new phones, true, my 2 year agreement has
changed 3 times but so what, it didn't affect my plan at all, so what do I
    care.

The industry claims it costs about $300.00 to obtain a new cellular
    customer.

As with the original poster of this thread, I have been a customer of
Sprint PCS for 6 years, and have been using the same phone.

I want a new phone, but they want to charge me for any phone other than
    their standard giveaway.

They tell me they can't do that without chaing my number.

When I first discussed this issue with them four months ago, they
entered notes and confirmed that they would allow me $150 instant
credit on any phone if I would not cancel on that day. I've paid four
more months; and today they tell me that due to some regulations, they
cannot honor the "bait" they had offered me.

I do know that if you can get a coporation on a collection account if
    you have a business license.

You can also get lawsuits listed in D&B as often a small claims suit
works wonders. In some cases, Municipal Court costs less than $200 if
you have the time to make big trouble.

So? They usually give $150 instant rebate to people in your situation (might be
a mail-in rebate, but I'm pretty sure it's an instant rebate), so you still get
    a good price.

    Any particular reason why?

At that point, instead of wasting time, I'd just cancel and switch providers.
Maybe port the number out before cancelling. It's a waste of time and money to
go to court in your situation, in my opinion...
