EV-DO Phones...Seriously.

I know it's been asked about a bazillion times in here, but through my
research online and real-life contacts, all I can glean about EV-DO phones
is that "they're coming", but no specifics at all. No mention of timeline,
make, model or cost.

One of my contacts said SPCS is moving away from the MS Mobile OS and is
embracing the Palm OS.

Is there anyone here with any additional (and semi-reliable) information?
I'm a small business owner and lack of POP3 access, decent contact and task
manager, and real-time instant messaging on my A680, not to mention poor
reception in the fringe area where I live, is really starting to have an
impact on my business. I hate to consider other carriers, but I might be
left with no choice if SPCS doesn't roll out some good hardware soon.

Well .... it's not been asked that much here in this newsgroup. Maybe 3 or 4
times ... As for SPCS phone information, they never pass on any information,
till they issue a PR on new phone models.

Whether they are ... or aren't, the browser has nothing to do with EV-DO
transmission speeds.

Considering that you say you live in the fringe coverage area, (I guessing
it's just outside of Las Vegas) maybe a Sanyo phone model might hold a
signal stronger. OR ... maybe it's time you did look around for another
wireless provider who can better cover your area of travel.
