I recently purchase a Sprint Treo 650 and have my Versamail working like
a charm! I have two friends, however, that have Treo 650's from Verizon
and Verizon does not include Versamail.

The only application that I could find on one of the Treo's was some
type of syncing program that appeared to require a co-client installed
on one's PC and one's PC left on. This sounded much like a Blackberry
re-director and in my opinion, is not the way to solve this issue.

I know Versamail can be purchased, however, what I'm trying to find out
is what is the Verizon Treo equivalent of Versamail??

    Thanks.

Your best bet would be to ask in the Verizon newsgroup. I don't think
there is one, but I'm not certain of that.

Check the discussion section at http://www.treocentral.com.

    Hello Mike,

This is Kevin from Palm. Because Verizon's Wireless Sync email
application was built into the Verizon Treo 650, Palm didn't include
VersaMail on the device. However, Verizon customers can install
VersaMail from the Treo 650 CD included in the box. You can find out
how to do this from the Palm Knowledge Library article "Introduction to
Wireless Sync for the Verizon Treo 650" at
    http://www.palmone.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=24907

    Sincerely
    Kevin

Thanks for your help. Now, if you don't mind, one more question.

How does one get the CD replaced? Specifically, a business associate of
mine who lost her CD in the storm - Hurricane Katrina. I'm trying to
help her with her Treo and she informed me the CD was destroyed.

    Thanks.

    Re: Treo 650 Help

First, try contacting Verizon. Or better yet, walk into one of their
stores. Its possible they may have a disk. Second, try contacting
Palm's Treo Store, http://web.palmone.com/ , the number is at the top
of the page. Third, you can download the Desktop software from the Palm
site. It is a more bare-bones version of the disk, but contains the
basics. You can find it at
    http://www.palm.com/us/support/downl...ndesk414e.html.

    Sincerely
    Kevin

Good to see Palm employee's monitoring the newsgroup.

    Keep up the good work!

    I agree.

And please keep these in mind:

More memory, both NVRAM and VRAM (at LEAST 128 of each, preferably
more), Wi-Fi, Good Bluetooth Implementation. Either a multi-tasking
implementation of PALM OS, or WM 5.0. Real 1.3Mp Camera.

If you guys can do this, it will end the debate as to which is the best
convergance device. Seriously, the debate will cease, and the Treo
would be to phones what the iPOD is to MP3 players.

And if people are willing to pony up $599, the vast majority will be
willing to pony up $699 to add the extra memory and wi-fi. We buy $100
in accessories anyway, and these are the things we cannot buy third
    party.

PLEASE don't skimp on the next release!

    Thank You.

Versamail is not installed on the Verizon ROM. You should be able to
get it through Palm.com for free by entering your ESN!?
