    Hello.

    The subject says it all.

My current carrier has a disclaimer on
their BT capable phones they are
advertising that "Only for certain profiles."

This "certain profiles" is for BT headset
capability and I guess sync to contacts. You
    cannot download/upload files/objects to your
PC like pictures, etc. You cannot connect
your PC using BT and your phone to connect
    to the Internet.

I want to be able to connect my BT enabled
phone or my BT enabled laptop to connect
    to my carrier's data network.

    Thanks in advance.

Easily doable with Samsung a900 and others. I suggest visiting
www.sprintusers.com and www.howardforums.com Sprint group to find
    further descriptions.

You must be talking about Verizon. Sprint's phones seem to support all
Bluetooth protocols. (Unfortunately for me, though, Sprint does not seem
    Mac-friendly.)
