I too have heard lots of bad things about the V180. My wife got two of them to crap out on her
(granted she dropped one of them). otoh, I got one of the "good" v180's. I've had it almost 18
months and it still works fine. Even left it out sitting on my car during a torrential thunderstorm
and amazingly it still works. Dropped it lots of times so it's pretty scratched up, but yet it
    continues to function.

That was not what was meant. The CS was convinced that the problem was being
experienced by all of us because we all had the same handsets (which
according to him were known for poor reception) and that it was the phones
and not as I felt ...Cingular's crappy tower coverage.

I'm begining to question moto quality in general. I mean after all it
couldn't possibly be Cingulars network :0)

Yup. My wife hasn't had any problems with her V188 either. They're not all
horrible, but the ones that have problems suck.

Well, Cingular's 180s are probably crap, like the CSR said. That doesn't
preclude crappy coverage being a problem. Both factors could have contributed.

Nah, I think the higher-end handsets are OK.
