Hi,
I am in the process of upgrading from a Sanyo 8200 to a Sanyo 8400. I'm
excited about the upgrade and am glad I got a reasonably good deal (2
phones for $80 with a two year agreement). I have an amazing plan, so
they really couldn't give me anything else that was appealing.
I have a few questions:
1 - I currently have free unlimited Vision. Will I continue to be able
to use the standard phone web services with that?
2 - Will the phone web browsing be at EV-DO speeds?
3 - Does my free unlimited text pages get affected by the fact that the
8400 works with Power Vision?
4 - What is the limitation on what I can do if I have Vision instead of
Power Vision?
5 - I used to be able to tether my phone to my laptop. Will that no
longer be possible with my regular unlimited vision plan?
Thanks,
PB

Re: 8400 and Vision
The limitation you will have if you keep your old vision plan is that
you will not benefit from the speed of the EVDO. That is only
available with powervision. powervision is 5 times faster than the
regualr vision.
I am not sure I understand what you mean by, 'unlimited text pages'
are you talking about Text messaging? If so, does your current vision
plan include this? or is it an added feature? If it is an added
feature, it is possible, it may not be compatible with the newer
powervision option. The power vision feature itself, does not at
current time include any text messaging with it. So it may be that
youll want to keep what you have as far as vision is concerned if it
includes the text messaging, or if you are getting it at a discount
because of your older vision feature.
It would be worth your time to email customer care to get a breakdown
of exacly comes with your current vision pack and how changing to the
powervision would effect you. the address to write to them is:
[email protected] PLEASE include your PCS number, emailaddress of
record on the account, and billing address as it appears on the acct in
your email along with your questions, so that the email can be answered
faster. other wise youll be playing email tag with them having to ask
for all that info before they can access your account.
