I'm looking at upgrading my BB 7250 to one of these.
One of the very attractive points is the tethered modem feature.

    A couple of questions:
    Does it work?
In addition to my monthly phone cost and BB unlimited data plan, are there
any other costs connected to using the tethered modem on my laptop?

    Thanks!

    Greetings Skorkles

There are not any other costs associated with the phone as modem with Sprint
Blackberry. If you had a Treo, yes, but not for Blackberry. You get an
unlimited broadband phone as modem for the same price.

Yes! You do need to download the SPrint Connection Manager and run that
on your computer when you want to connect, but tethering works quite
well on the 8703e. It kept me online for the two weeks that my home ISP
    connection was down.

No, tethering is included with the $39.99 unlimited Blackberry plan.
    There is no extra charge.

    $39.99/month

Another selling point for the Blackberry on Sprint: there is a code for
unlimited text messaging for $5 a month in Sprint's billing system, but
it ONLY works if you have a Blackberry data plan.
