    has any one noticed the 411 and equtment protection package prices going up
    ?
    seems sprint is doing so so money wize and is passing its losses on to the
    consumers.

    Instead of paying for 411 calls try 800FREE411 instead. As for the
    equipment
    package it is a premium service and they need to squeeze every cent
    they can
    to increase the bottom line.

    The Total Equipment Protection Plan cost isn't so much dictated by
    Sprint, but by the insurance company that Sprint retains for this
    service. Sprint's insurance company used to be Lock\Line, but that
    company was recently bought out by Asurion. As a result, there were
    once three major players in the cell phone insurance industry, and now
    there are only two. End result: they charge higher premiums, and Sprint
    must pass on the costs to the customers.

    The same COULD be true for the company Sprint outsources 411 services
    to. Virtually all wireless carriers in the US have a subcontractor
    provide 411 directory assistance.
