    Any way to avoid a penalty, for early termination of an account... I have 11
    months left on a 2 year contract..

    1) If you start calling up customer service every day for awhile there's a
    good chance they'll decide you're no longer a profitable customer and
    terminate the agreement from their side.
    2) Start racking up as many minutes as possible on weekend/evenings (when the
    minutes are "free") -- again they might decide you're not profitable.
    3) Obtain an address somewhere that doesn't have Sprint service. If Sprint is
    convinced you really are living there and can't get service, they may offer to
    let you drop the service without a penalty.
    4) Sell the account/contract to someone else. There are web sites that assist
    with this approach.

    They will, in fact, do this if there are no Sprint towers in the area where
    you live. I've had family members move outside a Sprint service area and they
    have been able to terminate service with no ETF.

    I got them to wave the ETF form my account because a renttion rep said I can
    buy out my contract for 16 bucks so i got that done and the company ate the
    ETF .
    iam very happy with my new provider
