A friend of mine in Louisiana bought a Sprint phone plan from the Louisiana
Sprint dealer for his daughter. She lives in Iowa. Only problem was here in
my town of Iowa Sprint doesn't work worth a darn. She was on roam most the
time and was not happy with the no service showing on the phone a lot.

Sprint in Louisiana said it would work here but it didn't work well at all.
They let him out of his contract 1 month later but he still had to pay for
the phone, in other words they did not give him his start up money back for
the plan they just let him out of the contract with a penalty cost for early
closing. The local cell company said they could hook it up to there system
here but it would always search for a Sprint tower. My question for this
group, is there anyway to program the phone not to look for Sprint towers,
if so I'd think that the man at the local cell place would have known, but
he may be not smart in that area either.

He was told to put the phone on E-bay at Christmas but I think he'd sell it
now. I believe the phone was $129.00 new, as to what the discounted price he
got it for when signing up with Sprint I don't know. And he never said what
it cost him to cancel his plan he got out of either. He's just not happy
with Sprint is all I know.

He doesn't know I'm posting this I was doing a search on Google to see if
there was a way to program Sprint out of it. I ran across this news group so
    I thought I'd ask here.

Not sure what your asking exactly, but I think you want to know what it
    should sell for.

I would say $30 at the most. Current phones sell for as low as $50
    without activation even.

You should be able to scroll down the menu until you get settings. Click
settings and then click roam. It will give you choices like spintpcs,
automatic, or analog. You should pick either analog or automatic.
