Some of you may have read my recent post regarding the fact that I was not
offered FIMF on my first retention call.
Upon my first call a very helpful woman offered me 120 additional AT
minutes, and 8pm N&W. I told her that may not be enough because most of my
calls are very short and FIMF is being offered by Nextel. She said that was
all she could do, so she put that note on the account and gave me 10 days to
decide. I called back 4 days later and told a different guy what I was
offered a few days earlier, and that it just wasn't going to be enough to
keep me from going over each month. He very eagerly offered me the FIMF for
no additional charge, plus the original 120 additional AT minutes and 8pm
N&W.
Needless to say I jumped on it and am pretty stoked. I could have fought for
a phone credit towards a new Vision phone, or reduce my normal $60 per month
plan which gets me 800AT minutes, but I was done bargaining.
Just thought everyone looking to change their plan should know. And by the
way, I was really considering going to Nextel because I use one for work,
and they would pay most of my bill!

Re: Got the retention deal I wanted with FIMF
Well...you are lucky...Because everytime I ask about the FIMF the
CSRs...I just got off of the phone with them....they say that is not
currently offered right now and they will not budge. Also about phone
credits...they will not offer me anything but they tell me to go to the
store. I hate going to the store they screw everything up...How do you
get this FIMF and phone credit business...I do not understand...I just
got off of the phone with them and she sounded like a damn
robot...Sometimes I just give up with Sprint. Any suggestions

Re: Got the retention deal I wanted with FIMF
I have 480AT, Unlimited N/W (8pm), Unlimited PCS2PCS and FIMF for
$30/mo. And I pay $10/mo extra for the roaming option, so I can use my
minutes when I am off of the SPCS network.
About the FIMF, I told them it would be nice to have it back, because I
had it when I first signed up with SPCS in 2/98.

Re: Got the retention deal I wanted with FIMF
Why is it that on the West coast (California mainly) the 8 PM. option
seems so common? Here in Indiana, I haven't had 8 PM. for a year and a
half. I lost FIMF nearly 2 years ago! Why are we being treated so
poorly here?

Re: Got the retention deal I wanted with FIMF
Because on the west coast the 8pm N&W is huge because of time zones. If I
have a business client in Minnesota, or New York, or whatever, 9pm my time
is way too late for them. Now 8pm is a little better. I really wish I had my
7pm N&W like when I had my first cell phone 8 years ago. Didn't Cingular or
another company try a 6pm N&W in some markets?

You might want to call up *2 and ask whichever rep you get if you can
get 8PM N&W tacked onto your account. I did that and got it right away
(not from a retention rep either).

What's the competition like in Indiana? On the
west coast, Sprint coverage isn't terrific compared
to Verizon or AT&T TDMA, so maybe they are
willing to be more generous.
