Sony-Ericsson T608 - Still Launching or NOT!?!?

Folx,

Has anyone heard anything about this phone or any other Bluetooth phone that
SprintPCS will launch this year. They have largely made statements to the
press that they would launch the Sony-Ericsson T608 by 2Q03. Uhhh...What
gives?

T608 introduction was impending, then Sony-Ericsson announced they were
pulling out of the CDMA market. Subsequently, the introduction of this
phone has been in question, even though Sprint was rumored to have
30,000 in inventory. (They would be concerned about continued supply,
support, etc.) However, it now seems probable that the T608 will
actually be released, possibly next month. A website has actually been
set up (by "hatoncat") to track this issue, and a petition may be signed
there to help push Sprint toward the release of this phone. The website is:

Yes, it will be nice to have a Sprint PCS Bluetooth phone!

There's a LOT of conflicting info about this right now. Some of which
states that the T608 will launch sometime in August (hopefully). Other
info suggests that the T608 has been cancelled.

I would suggest looking at the forums at www.t608users.com . There's a
group of t608 enthusiasts there, that have amassed lots of information
about the T608, including its many false starts in the launch phase.
And I imagine if there is definitive word either way, you'd see it there
first.

The official word is that the phone is "on hold". The majority of info
that I have indicates that the phone will still be launched, but it may
take as much as another two months before the phone will be available
to order.

Just picked up the T-610 from my T-Mobile loacal store. Appears to be very
similar to the T-608 except it is GSM & has a built in camera......very
solid build quality and has a lot of very neat features...

I'm probably going to switch to T-Mobile in October (when my contract
expires) if the T-608 does not come out by then.
Why does the mention of a cellphone provider provoke such rage??

ASk the trolls on here. They get enraged anytime someone speaks of
Sprint PCS with even a hint of a positive tone.
