Can anybody tell me why I keep getting phone calls to my home number from
Sprint PCS (I have no phone service with Sprint). The toll free number is 1
888 547-8119. Every afternoon/Evening the phone will ring, when answered
there is a pause then they hang up. I've called the number back every night
this week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I have been hung up on at least
twice each night after calling. Sprint in my opinion gets the BFU award for
the year. Use your imagination as to what B - F - U stands for.

I think I recall getting a call from that number one month when
we were significantly late with a payment. I'd call back. If it is collections,
and they are calling you, and you never opened a sprint PCS account, then
either there was a big screwup, OR you may be the victim of identity fraud -
someone may have opened an account in your name or using your personal
info with the express intent of getting cell service that they wouldn't
have to pay for. EIther way, and even if it's something completely
unrelated, I would say it'd be a really good idea to continue to try to
get someone on the line there. If you can't, maybe try calling customer
service at 888 211-4727 and see if you can talk to someone who might know
which department that number belongs to.

Funny you should mention that, Steven. I've had TWO people this week come
in to start service with Sprint, and BOTH of them were in write-off due to
an EX boyfriend or EX girlfriend having opened accounts under the "victim's"
identity. Strangely, neither were all too upset at the situation, either.
