What's the best Sprint phone available now?

A year or so ago, everyone raved at the Sanyo 4500. What is the best phone
now for the price and performance, etc.?

    Thanks

(needing a new phone due to a phone death by misadventure)

Right now? *Tough* question. Two new Samsung's out just this week, and
one, the A600, actually getting good user reviews despite the lack of
    external/secondary LCD.

Man, many people have been very happy with their Sanyo 8100. There's the
Sanyo 6400 (non-color screen, Vision capable) selling for $50. The general
impression appears to be that it's very much worth that price. The Hitachi
P300 also has quite a loyal following, even though it's only single-band.

I am the owner of the 5300 but we just got my wife the 8100. For all around
vision (web, pictures, etc) it's a great phone. They have improved many
menuing options and other minor things that I really like!!

The camera quality on the 8100 is horrible, though. I was coming off a
broken 5300 and tried the 8100. I couldn't deal with the camera quality on
the 8100. I'm now using the Samsung A600. The reception on the Samsung is
a little lacking, but the camera quality is equal to the 5300.

I noticed how you didn't use the word PHONE once in your post.....a CAMERA
phone is hot....but really not the primary thing one should care about when
you need a PHONE that has great reception. Having said that......

No camera phone (5300, 8100, and the new samsungs) are going to have
digi-cam quality (at least a couple of mega-pixels). At present, it would be
cost-prohibitive to have a phone like that (it would make the 5300
cheap.....). Those phones are only for taking quick, FUN pictures....not to
have your cell pics up for photography awards. If all you care about is
reception, get a Sanyo. The 8100 has great reception and the camera did help
a kid near my hometown bag a kid-toucher (I'm assuming it was the
8100.....it was a Sprint phone and I doubt he had a 5300 [I could be
    wrong]).
