Just a warning about a number I was recently given when I called up to
complain about, "Federal Wireless Number Pooling And Portability". The
first rep I talked to gave me a number which she was told that any
questions or complaints could be addressed to which was, "18667706690"
this number is far from helpful. It is just an automated system with three
options that only read back what sprint's website and the little paper we
all got in our bills last month for the fee increase. This number has no
rep option nor will it try to connect you to one if you input wrong values
or none at all. I thought this was just the hand out number they give to
explain about the fees and the rep didn't realize it was not helpful to
me. After speaking to three more reps and a supervisor who all, after
waiting awhile, came back and said something along the lines of, "Sir, I
got a number you can call to talk to someone who can help you..." As many
people know it is a pain to have to explain your problem to one person and
not to mention to three people so if you are really wanting to call and
complain make sure you don't settle for this number. It is not helpful if
you are complaining since you most likely already know the information it
contains. I don't blame the reps but at least sprint should tell them it
is an automated system that does not offer live help. I personally don't
mind paying for portability if it was in operation but charging now just
    ticks me off.

Then might I suggest you keep that in mind when your PCS contract expires.
VZW seems to have most LNP systems in place, and hasn't passed along any
    fee increases to customers.

...not to mention, near-zero hold times for customer service, English-speaking
reps, more reliable network, etc, etc.

Can you list the contents of that paper. I never look at inserts (Spam)
with my bill. I simply read the bill and pay it if it is correct, which it
    never is.

Maybe you should start reading the inserts.

It is easy to understand why they are charging now. In spite of the fact
that LNP does not start until November, they need to develop the feature
now. That costs money, and depending upon the design of the internal Sprint
systems (which I suspect are a little like spaghetti , it could cost
significant money to get done on time. It is probably fair to ask for that
fee now, as they will be losing customers to Verizon (net, this is likely to
be true based upon some of satisfaction results I have seen between the
various services) and will be utilizing that service for you.

I've recently been to the VZW site.......if you read their agreement they
can in the future (which I believe they will) charge you a fee for WLNP.
They're just not doing it now.....

Where did you see this? The announcement a couple of weeks ago merely said that
VZW would re-evaluate whether to assess a fee when number portability becomes
available, and that in any case the probable cost is 10-15 cents per month. The
obvious implication is that Sprint's $1.10/month surcharge is 10% cost and 90%
profit. Or, that Sprint is 10 times as inefficient as VZW.

The same thing happened to me- Theyreferred me to 866-770-6690 which is
an automated service, with no live body.
This is despite the fact that the rep told me Ishould call that number
to talk to someone about the LNP fee.
This is just another example of Sprint's lackof honesty and miserable
    customer service.
This is a breach of the contract and gives me grounds to terminate. I
will probably wait untl November however when the portability is in
place and all of the companies will probably be engaging in a price
war- but I urge everyone to file a protest so that whenand if you want
to terminate your agreement early there will be a record of your
    protest.
