check out this thread at Howards about VZW users with more than 1 phone
    swapping their ESN's daily.

    http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...threadid=180033

Has anyone tried that with Sprint? Do they have a policy for/against
    it?

I have always thought of new/replacment phone activations as kind of a
one-way exercise with Sprint. It would be nice to think I could get
another phone and be able to swap between them.

That is weird. The following is a cut and paste from the thread. To
find the full thread go to howardforums.com and then go to the Verizon
board. under that you will find a thread on ESN swaps.

and second, is there a limit to how many times you can change your ESN
online? Thanks in advance for any replys.

The 5185i is a CDMA phone that is very durable. I had mine for two
years and it survived a lot of abuse including falling off the roof of
my car at 40 mph when I accidently left it there. I still see this
phone available at Radio Shack and its on eBay too. I actually
activated mine a few weeks ago just to see if the online ESN change
would let me do it. Still worked fine.

As far as there being a limit to online ESN changes, I don't think
there is one. I activate my Moto T720 a couple times a week so I can
connect to the Express Network using my N&W minutes. I re-activate my
vx6000 once I am finished. I've done this at least 20 times and haven't
    encountered any problems thus far.

Verizon, AT&T, and Cingular do not charge for ESN Changes nor do they require
'contract renewal.' Sprint, on the other hand, is lackluster when it comes to
    this department.
