There you go again Phillippe. What an idiot! These sets of procedures on
blacklisted phones have been in existance since SPCS started up.

Stores cannot give out that info, but they may be able to call for you.
I checked the ESN you posted, it was a "high risk" situation, SprintPCS
did lost a bit of money on this.

Well, thanks for looking. There's bigger problems out there. I'm not
going to lose any more sleep over it. The seller said i should have
checked the ESN before i bid on it. I double checked and they did have
the ESN posted in the auction. If i checked the ESN of every phone I
bid on , i'd never get anything done. I've sold a lot of phones on
eBay and would never dream of selling a phone that wasn't ready for
activation. It's not the end of the world. If i thought sprint wanted
the phone back I'd gladly send it to them but the two reps I talked to
didn't seem very interested.

That's why I won't buy phones at online auction sites.
Good luck getting your money back from the thief.

Re: Anyway to get SPCS to activate a blacklisted phone?
What a crook the seller is. He even had the nerve to laugh at
you, with his "buyer beware" attitude. Sprint PCS does not want the
phone back. It is past the 14 days. They will activate the phone, if
you pay the seller's bill. So their transferring you was applicable.
If the seller won't give you your money back, you probably already know
e-bay's procedures.

What is the sellers Ebay user id, I would like to see his or her feedback
for prior transactions.

I'd definitely take it up with ebay. Him posting an ESN doesn't mean
anything, unless he posted that the phone had a past due bill that had
to be paid on it. BTW how much did you pay for the phone.

If they post the ESN, all it takes is a quick call to customer solutions
to see if that ESN is legit and free of any past due balances, not
stolen etc...
Most seller's won't put it in the ad, but will e-mail the ESN to someone
who asks for it. A responsible seller would be willing to give that
info.

Quick call to customer solutions? What's your definition of quick?

Once you get though to them... :-)
A retail store should be able to do the same.

You left a 'neutral' feedback?
I would have left negative. :-)

Re: Anyway to get SPCS to activate a blacklisted phone?
I would have left negative also, You can buy a brand new A500 at Costco for
under a 100 dollars, I don't think complaining to ebay will do much good
because the seller disclosed the ESN in the description, I still don't think
is right though, When I sell a phone I guarantee that you can get it
activated or I will return you money, This kind of SHADY selling reflects on
a lot of other honest sellers.
