I currently reside with a fairly new account (still well under contract)
in an affiliate area (Alamosa). I will soon be relocating to a true
Sprint corporate area. Is this a problem at all, to change number
(including area code) and address, basically leaving the affiliate
    altogether?

Because of how plans are run according to market, if you change your area
code to match your new location, then you're going to have to re-sign up for
a plan and Advantage Agreement (assuming you have one). We've run into such
billing problems trying to run billing plans in areas outside where they
were offered that we basically don't even try anymore.

That area code change, aka a "CSA Swap", will require a new plan and
    contract.

It would depend if your current plan is currently offered in the
new area. Otherwise put, when you get your new plan, because of the
number change, it must be from the plans currently offered in the new
    area.

That is fine with me, I was just making sure that could be done without
    penalty, like normal.

I didn't have a problem when I moved. I too was in Alamosa territory
before moving to the Northeast in Sprint's main territory, and all I did
was call and switch numbers. There was no problem at all.

One note though: on my bill, at the bottom of the remittance slip,
there's this row of letters and numbers which I assume is some sort of
account or revenue identifier. This line has always started with
"NMXELP" which I recognize as likely being my home market (New Mexico
and El Paso, Texas). So, perhaps I'm still counted as an affiliate
customer even though I'm no longer in an affiliate market.
