Well, I got a bill from Sprint PCS yesterday. $150 fee. About $10
for voice dial service they offered to let me to try for free for a
month - two days before I returned the last pair of phones. $72 in
activation fees. About $19 in taxes. Plus the $39.50 balance they
told me I had during several calls to *2.

Grand total? $290.78. It was supposed to be $39.50. I gave them the
benefit of the doubt, as this bill may not have reflected their recent
decisions to waive most of the charges above, but when I called the
1-800 number, they confirmed my balance was $290.78.

I really didn't want to come to this board again, but I thought I'd
tell you guys. I suppose it's time for another round of letters.
This time, however, I have e-mails to print and attach showing that I
was told they would waive the fees.

I am going to wait two weeks (about the time the bill said it was due)
to allow them time to send me a bill reflecting all the waivers. Then
I'm blasting another 5 page letter to BBBs, attorney generals, FCC,
    etc... again.

Why is it that when I'm most cynical about Sprint, I am most SPOT ON ?

I knew you could count on them not keeping promises.

Did you actually talk with a human being when you called the 800 number?
Perhaps you should do that if you didn't. Also, just send them a check for
$39.50 and a copy of the emails. You still have an obligation for that
amount. At least they won't be able to dispute your payment.

Where'd this question come from? Are you hearing voices?

Any, "spot on" means "right on the nose."

    VERY informal

Yes, I did speak with a customer service rep. Apparently, they've
already cancelled alot of the services I was supposed to receive
through 9/15/03. I can no longer log on online, but that didn't
really matter because it kept showing my July bill as still due,
although the payment had cleared my bank account weeks ago.

When I spoke with the guy from Executive Services, I told him I would
gladly pay the $39.50. I just don't want this on my credit. I want
to buy a house here pretty soon, and the mortgage brokers ding you for
    things like this.

I think I will just send them a check for the $39.50 and the e-mails I
received. Due to their "speedy" response times when answering
e-mails, I had apparently received the waivers by the time they
responded. So, I have multiple e-mails now saying that the fees were
    waived.

I was worried this would happen. It happens (to a smaller degree) in
my accounting firm when too many people get their hands on one
client's billings. At least I hope this is simply a timing error and
not them trying to stick it to me once more.
