Does anyone know if Sprint will be reimbursing minutes or money for the
    blackout?

I'm in NY and my service didn't work for ****. It was very
disappointing, but, from what I understand, they (service providers) all
    had problems.

    Just curious.

Probably not. Perhaps if the service were unlimited use, like internet
access or a public utility, then you might get credited (which is an
interesting point... are any power companies giving service credits,
since obviously they CAUSED the blackout?). But since wireless plans
are mainly a set fee per month for a bucket of minutes, you could still
conceivably use all your minutes in the remainder of that month and get
    your money's worth.

I doubt it since the towers are also supplied by the electricity that
wasn't flowing. They may have battery backups, but not enough to supply
them with the power to handle the potential high volume that was there
for as long as it was.

If it was SprintPCS's fault that there was no service, maybe.

I'm sure once the 'cause' is found, there will be lawsuits and payouts
    for losses from it.

Seems to be the blackout was not sprints fault, and therefore are not liable.
Heres in the Detroit area, sprint service was pretty good considering the
    circumstances.

That was a stupid question. Yet, there are no stupid questions, just stupid
    people.

If the blackout was their fault they likely would.

Actually, the question made perfect sense, because AT&T Wireless *did* offer
each customer a 60-minute credit for the outage. The original poster was
wondering whether Sprint PCS had made a similar offer, for competitive
    reasons at least.
