    Hi Folks,

I've read up on 3G a bit in the FAQ, but didn't see anything to answer this
    question.

I have a Treo 300 which I really love, but when I connect to the internet
through my beloved unlimited sprint internet access, I still get very slow
    connections (the best speed I've seen is about 1KB/second = ~10kbps). I
thought that 3G was supposed to speed things up considerably 144kbps -
384kbps. I'm going to be looking for a new phone now, and I wondered if
there are any suggestions for phones which support the alleged new
high-speeds. Does anybody know anything about the Treo 600 in this dept?
Should the Treo 300 be seeing these new speeds? I thought it was 3G
    compatible.

    Thanks all!
    Eric

Its more the Cell Network that controls your access speeds. If your area
only provides 10kbps on the Network, changing phones won't improve your
    speed.

well, this has been pretty consistent from eastern wa to seattle. i'd
    assume seattle has beefier networks.

Well, as far as I know, the network right now only supports 144kbpS MAX,
averaginv 50kbpS to 70kbpS most of the time on average (about as fast,
to a little faster than a standard home phone-line based modem).

If you're getting 1KBpS / 8kbpS then there my be a high demand on your
network, I've heard some complaints about that in the mid-west.

Check your signal, if you have none to two bars, then that can also
cause the issue, I've personaly noticed I get the best speeds when I
    have a full signal.

This past week from TN go IN I got a solid 14KB/s through put on DL's with
my connection card so the network can do it.
