Here is the abbreviated version of the letter, actual text less the
    yahdayada filler:

Your satisfaction is our top priority....

Although you have a PCS phone, you are not signed up for a PCS free and
    clear with Vision....

You have been billed 0.002/kilobyte.... After 9/15/2003, your per
kilobyte usage fee will be corrected to $0.01 which you will see on your
    next invoice.
    ***
HOLY TOLEDO, I DOWNLOADED 13 MEGS FROM CORPORATE ON THE MERLIN CARD
YESTERDAY. I guess my satisfaction is not their top priority. Wonder how
    much that cost me?

Of course, it does say I should sign up for a plan that includes Vision.

ONLY ONE PROBLEM - I ALREADY HAVE VISION.

So another 20 minutes of my life gets wasted on hold with Sprint while they
research it. Yes I do have Sprint with free and clear with Vision. Sorry
about the letter, a bunch of them got sent out by mistake

Date, time, operator name and extension number duly recorded.

I might start sending them certified letters "CONFIRMING OUR UNDERSTANDING
IN THE RECENT CALL" in case this ever gets ugly.

Re: Got letter today from Sprint

Same here, in stead of getting letters, I was charged directly in two
months. I called after the first month, but the CSR had no clue. After
insisting it could only be the customer's fault, he credited me back as if
he was doing me a good favor. It happened again the second month. This
time the CSR was nicer, he put me on hold, and go discussing with his
supervisor. 5 minutes later, he told me it's Sprint's mistake and
apologized. I hope I won't need to call the third time.

Then again, it is not 9/15/2003 yet ... so you will still get $0.002/KB

I got the same letter yesterday. I can't find any vision charges on my
    invoice anyway.

I got the same letter and have had a Vision plan for almost a year now.
What more could you expect from a company that has made such great
    strides in improving customer service?

Yup. Quite a lot of people got it. It only refers to casual usage. As
long as you actually have a Vision Pack, that letter is annoying, and a
pretty silly mistake to make, but it's harmless.

Given it forces people to call *2 and wait on hold, and get upset, it is
hardly harmless. Only A blind sprint apologist like master vargas would
    call that massive mailout harmless.

We have yet to get a report of someone rceiving a invoice/bill after
    getting that letter.

No one *has* call *2. If you have a vision pack in effect, then the letter
only refers to casual usage, and you're covered. Unless you're using your
Vision phone as a modem. You can confirm your Vision pack is applied just
by logging into Manage. The web site.

You know that. The people getting the letter might not. And logging into
Sprint is like looking back in time. The online account status isn't always
    accurate.

Look MM, just stop apologizing for Sprint and admit defeat. You are neither
    intelligent or capable of discussion.

Actually, the much greater harm occurs when someone calls up Customer Service to
ask about the letter, and the Sprint rep "reinterprets" the letter as something
completely different--e.g., "The letter means we're cutting off your Vision
because you used your phone as a modem." "But I never did any such thing!"
    etc.

There are reports of this kind of confusion in other Sprint-related forums.
Apparently whoever sent out these letters didn't bother briefing Customer
    Service in a timely manner.

If they are reading this newsgroup, wondering about that, now they *do*
    know, Justin. That's the point.

    > And logging

That's another disconnect from reality. If you haven't changed your plan,
and no one in this thread has, then the "My Options" section is accurate.
If it says you have Vision, then you have Vision. Hence, any announcement
about casual usage is virtually meaningless.

You're right. But that harm is caused by the stupid reps we won't fire, not
by the silly letter we sent to the wrong people.

I wonder if any of those people reporting this were re-signed to a Vision
pack. As troubling as the reports are, that would trouble me thrice more.
That would sound to me like deliberate fraud on the rep's part.

No, We in customer care didn't read the news item. It was posted a week
before the date those letters were supposed to go out. We had the
    opportunity to know about it.
