This is a repost from HoFo...but I think it could shed some more light
on what I need. And Sprint employees have any insight???
I have been with Sprint ever since moving to Southern California over 5
years ago. Then about 2 years ago, I signed my husband up for a separate
promo plan around the holidays (with a free phone too). However, I
recently decided that we need another line, so that's 3 lines for our
family.
I have been contacting cancellation/retention for the past several days
because I don't even know if it's worth it for me to keep the 3rd
phone/line right now with the sucky plans. As I have 14 days to return
the phone and cancel the service, that's what I'm debating. It's the 3rd
phone that I would cancel, not my other lines. A customer rep got this
confused a week ago and canceled ALL of my plans. WTF? I had to call
back and tell them that I was only thinking of canceling the most recent
one. Sigh.
Everyone keeps telling me to get the $85 for 2000 a/t plan with shared
lines when I call retention. They WON'T give me the $85 plan. I've
talked to 2 separate people right now. They wouldn't even offer me a $40
for 750 a/t minute plan or anything like that for my original lines like
some of you have. Then it might have been worth it for me to add a line
for $20 to that.
I guess all I can do now is wait until the end of November. I just wish
they'd throw me a bone or something. 3 phones on 3 separate plans is
just ridiculous, but it's the best deal right now. Since I can't get
anything better, I just signed onto their 2 loyalty plans for the phones
I already have and the new phone on their regular published rate.
2 phones at their loyalty plan
$30/mo each for 300 at minutes each + unlimited n/w at 8 pm
-AND-
1 new phone at their regular kick my butt plan
$35/mo for 300 at minutes + 1000 n/w at 9 pm
That means that on the 3 phones, I'm getting 900 at minutes and
unlimited n/w at 8 pm on 2 phones and 1000 n/w at 9 pm on one phone for
$95.
This is still a better deal than their $60 for 800 at minutes and
unlimited n/w at 9 pm because I would have to pay $20 for each
additional line! That's $100 for this plan with less minutes. So I guess
I'm keeping my phones on 3 separate plans. That's just retarded in my
opinion.
Anyway, at this moment, I'm thinking that I should suck it up and keep
the 3rd line and wait until November for some better deals. But I dunno.
It just seems like I can't win. And if they don't come out with a better
plan for shared lines, I'm stuck with the 3rd plan for 2 years or $150
to terminate. It just sucks all around.

Retention Department's policies are outside my deparment, but it sounds
like you are, indeed, getting a raw deal. You've been with us for 5
years, are able to sign up at least three lines, and they won't offer
you anything?
Maybe it's because you took those 8PM offers on the other two phones. I
know there's a 1000 AT minute plan for $75 that includes 8PM N&W hours
that can share minutes between all three phones. It's still $20 per 2nd
and 3rd phone, though, and new agreements all around. There's also 800
AT minutes for $60.
I wish I could do better.

Or I could just be honest.. Shared plans suck anyways, no matter how
much they are!!! Your better off on having 3 seperate plans.. It is next
near impossible to even keep track of your minutes on a shared minute
plan.

Only because of the deficiencies of Sprint's computer system.

They have issues with getting current billing information on dual phone
accounts as well. I had a balance due posted on the web site two weeks
after the payment cleared my account.

Re: Anyone can help? Sprint is really kicking my butt!
O/Siris - Thanks for being candid. I don't know what about me or my
luck that is keeping me from getting a break. It just sucks. Well,
I'm going to call next week to cancel my 3rd line because it just isn't
worth it to me right now. Maybe they'll offer me something better
then. Otherwise, I'll just wait until Thanksgiving to see if I can get
something better.
VZW Guy - Yes, I know shared plans aren't always the greatest, but I
could use more anytime minutes. Would have definitely loved to use
2000 anytime vs. the 900 that I have right now for almost $100/mo.
Justin & Phill - Thanks for the info ont he systems. Sprint has messed
up a couple times on my billing for no apparent reason, so I know all
about their "quirks." (Just last month, they billed me twice for the
same time period while doubling my total airtime used so I ended up
getting charged 200 minutes over my plan or something. Sigh. The
abuse I take for good reception in my house!)
