In regards to the original topic, "Can an old phone become SMS
enabled?", I don't know for sure. With my knowledge of how it works, I
would say no, but I really can't give a definate answer. I would love
to hear an actual tech's answer on the topic though, they tend to know
more about the software of the phone than I do.
