Hello,
As many of you know, I recently cut my ties with Sprint and went with an
alternate provider in Verizon. As I was shopping around for plans (both
post pay and prepay as I don't use my phone nearly as much as I used
to), I came across a flyer for "My Wireless", which is Sprint's prepaid
plans. Apparently, this is only available in Wal-Mart stores.
Does anyone actually use Sprint's prepaid service? Especially with
Virgin Mobile using Sprint's coverage areas now... "My Wireless" is very
expensive -- even in prepaid terms. It costs 45 cents a minute during
peak hours!!! Verizon's prepaid is only 30 cents per minute, and
Virgin's is 25 cents for the first ten minutes and 10 cents each minute
after that.
Sprint doesn't advertise their prepaid service in their stores like
Verizon and AT&T do. And with prices like that... does *anyone* use
it?
Just a curious obvservation.

Re: Does anyone use Sprint prepaid??
Virgin is a separate company which uses the Sprint network (for a fee). Not
obvious whether Sprint gets enough extra from Virgin doing better that it pays
for Sprint to promote them.

Re: Does anyone use Sprint prepaid??
Virgin Mobil is sprints version of pre-paid.
The pricing is $.25 for first 10 min of each day and then $.10 for any
additional minutes that day.

Actually I was just in a local sprintpcs store getting my sanyo 4900
software upgraded and I saw a display right next to the service line
advertising prepaid via virgin, or something. It had phones/price
listings as well as what appeared to be some kind of cards (I'm
guessing you recharge them like calling cards). Price for setting it up
was 129 dollars with 30 dollar rebate.
