At least 50% of the time when I try to connect to the network, I
    receive a messge that says

Error: The network is busy, unavailable or data is not enabled.
(0x1102). This happens at the same place within ten minutes of the
last succesful connection. Any ideas? Thanks.

If it says Network is busy, why would you not believe it? Sprint apparently
doesnt have enough capacity in your area. If it gets to be too big an issue,
quit Sprint, and refuse to pay an Early Terination Fee, as they are not
providing the srvice you paid for.

That message is the equivalent to a "busy signal" when you try to dial into an ISP.

Sometimes it takes two, three, four attempts to log into Vision.

A Sprint Customer Service agent said, and I quote "We have sold more vision devices than the vision
    network can support".

There is only one valid idea that anyone can give you: Keep trying.

When you reach a busy signal, you have little choice buy to keep trying until it is no longer busy.

Some areas and times are harder/easier to log on than others. I don't know anyone who doesn't get
that message at least a couple of times per day. When you leave the connction idle, it tends to
drop the routing ... even though it shows you are still connected to the Vision network. When this
happens, sometimes you need to manually disconnect and log back in.

Hopefully the project they have with Lucent will increase data network availability.

Until then, keep trying until you can log on. There is nothing wrong with your phone or your
signal, there just isn't enough available data bandwidth on your local tower. There is zero you
can do about it on your end.
