yes, I have used my 6035 (Palm phone) to successfully bid on ebay in an
auction where last second bidding was occuring. now that I have switched
to an I500, I expect to be able to do the same.

I see that the I500 runs the Palm OS. Is that the key to being able to
connect to eBay? I have a Sanyo 6400. Can I use that? My plan includes "PCS
Vision Premium Pack" which has something called "Unlimited Web Access" but I
have never used it and don't really know what that means. BTW, I tried to
find this out on the eBay site, but didn't get clear information.

I have that it is or was possible to get onto ebay to bid using a non-Palm
(and non-PocketPC) phone that is equipped with a WAP browser (like my old
Kyocera 2035) but I have never tried. The WAP portal into ebay may now be
closed. Some Vision phones may have enough of a browser to get in. Why don't
you just try since you have unlimited web access anyways ?

It sounds liked you haven't figured out how to work your phone's browser.
    Start there.

I have not tried it on Sprint. Have tried it on ATT pocketnet (now defunct).

basically, you have find out what the WAP address is for EBAY - I used to
    have it, don't anymore

Enter that site in your vision phone, under the option for enter url, and
then once the site comes up bookmark it for
    ready recall.

What I found is that it would constantly ask me to enter name and password,
and alot of times, the site was not available

Mostly what I did was keep tabs on items I was bidding

I'll see if I can find it, too. Right off the top of my head, I think=20
    think it's http://mmm.ebay.com

It is possible. I've done it with a Sanyo 4500 and a Samsung I330.

I see that eBay has comething called "rebidding" at www.rebid.com that
requires a $2.99 monthly fee. Is this how you did it?

Please note that this is ***NOT*** an E-Bay feature. Rather, this is a
3rd party totally unrelated to E-Bay that simply makes bids on your
behalf as instructed (normally within the final 10 seconds of an
auction), when you can't be present at the close of an auction.

Thanks but I need some clarity. I understand this is a third-party feature.
But is this third-party feature the sum total of all eBay wireless access?
Or is there a different eBay-run wireless access (different and separate
from this third-party access)? If the latter, is it mmm.ebay.com? And if it
is, I get a menu, but then an error message. Is this a problem with my phone
(Sanyo 6400) or has eBay ceased to provide (i.e., support) this service?

BTW, I have gotten no response from eBay support to these questions.

No, I did not use a 3rd party site or agent. On the 6035 I directly
used the Eudora web browser to make a bid (which I won).
No, it was not this mmm.ebay.com site which I just tried and seems
    broken.

Just as a proof of concept for you, I went ahead just now with my
I500 and tried to get onto ebay. The provided Blazer browser, when I entered
www.ebay.com jumped to mmm.ebay.com, which, as mentioned, is broken and did
not work. I don't know if that forwarding to mmm.ebay.com occurs at the
Blazer proxy side or at ebay's.
Next I tried the WebPro browser that apparently is proxyless and
seems all around to be better, I went directly to www.ebay.com and was
able to nav the site much like on a standard PC, pictures and all. I was
able to successfully make a bid using this browser on my I500. I did not
try AvantGo, Xino, Eudora, etc. But at least I have one browser that will
    work.
As I mentioned previous, I don't know if any of the older WAP
portals to ebay still work. Somewhere I vaguely remember hearing that
they have been dismantled. But clearly if you use a real web browser from
your phone (provided that your phone has one), that ebay is quite
    accessible.
