Sorry all! I thought I canceled my post, but I guess not soon
    enough. I posted in error.

YES the T6 will roam on the 800mhz CDMA networks, YES I HAVE used mine
first hand and voice does work. You will NOT have data services. I used
it in Houston TX while on a trip from Tucson there was an area that it
hooked up to Verizons network. You can add the F&CA plan to it.

OK, here's the scoop from a "Tier 2" tech who owns one himself:

Yes, it'll roam to Verizon. Thus, since the phone *can* roam, F&CA will=20
also populate on a subscription using it.

Great thanks.... someone should tell Handspring that it works.

1 more question about that Rob... How does one detect being on a Verizon
network site with the Treo 600?

Re: no roaming on Treo 600?

Quick question for anyone that knows the answer When roaming on the
Verizon network how does this change the battery life compared to being
on the Sprint network. I know analog kills the battery on some of my
older phones but since the T6 only has digital roaming I hope to just
leave it on automatic so it will always hold a signal. I ordered a T6
but probably will not get it for another week and my current phone
cannot be forced to digital roaming so I cant compare it myself. Thanks
    for any answers to this.

Well... Since Verizon is the only other national CDMA provider in the=20
    country...

Actually, there's a couple of regional providers, so, technically, there is=
    n't=20
a way to know without finding a way into the Treo's phone debug screen. So=

can tell though, they don't operate anywhere we don't operate also. I have=

done a search zip code by zip code, though.

CDMA is CDMA, so it should have very little effect on battery life, other t=
    han=20
the act of losing one network and having to search for the other.

Do the phones use the same power output when on cdma cellular as
CDMA PCS? Maybe the newer phones do, but I thought the older phones
    used higher output on cellular.

Oh, that *is* a good question. Hadn't thought of that. It probably
does operate at a somewhat higher power level. That's *way* outside
any normal resource I can access in Customer Care. I'll see what I
    can find out.

Re: no roaming on Treo 600?

For example, in WI if you roam cellular cdma it will not be on
verizon. They are PCS only in WI. It would be on uscellular or alltell
    or ???.

Re: no roaming on Treo 600?

It is strange that the Sprint PCS website groups the phone with
the single band phones, but then in the detail page, under the heading
single band, it lists both 1900 and 800 Mhz bands.

Re: no roaming on Treo 600?

I believe when Handspring says it won't "work" with Verizon, they are
talking about the fact that Verizon isn't one of the current carriers that
is supporting the phone right now. That is, you can't buy it directly from
Verizon. However, if you get one from Sprint, you CAN activate it on
Verizon. See www.treocentral.com for everything you could possibly want to
    know about the Treo.
