Asking because I was told that if you use Bluetooth with the phone to link
to some PDA's or car links, the 1 xxx yyy zzzz number may show incorrectly
on their display.
Is it necessary to use it (#1) at all with a cell phone? I know on a land
line you may get a "You must dial 1 before dialing this number" message.
Don't want to redo phone book but may need to.

It depends on your carrier, but many cell carriers will connect a 10
digit call only if there are no long distance charges incurred, but will
always connect an 11 digit call.
In other words, 10 digit dialing will typically work at home, but if
you're roaming and don't have a national calling plan, all your
phonebook entries will fail to work when you're out of area.
However, your mileage may vary, it depends a lot on the specific carrier
you choose, and potentially your rate plan.
