Does someone know if there is a way of using the cell phone as some
sort of "irda dongle"? As the phone can both send and receive data
through the irda port, I presume it must be possible to use it as a
dongle too... If anyone has information about any sofware that makes
this possible, or even IF it's possible at all, please let me know!

Re: Cell phone as irda dongle?
What do you mean by use it as a dongle? You can go online over your
laptop by connecting to the phone via IR

Re: Cell phone as irda dongle?
Sorry, I forgot to mention the cable from the phone to the computer...
If you have (like me) a cell phone with a usb cable and ir, is it
possible to use the cellphone to connect other ir devices (like other
computers, other cellular phones, pulse watches etc) to the computer?

No, not in the configuration that you describe.

I doubt that there is any software for the phone that would facilitate
this. IrDA dongles are so cheap, well under $10, that there is no reason
that anyone would want to do this.
