Who's the carrier, and *exactly* what are you trying to do?

I'd recommend Bitpim found at http://www.bitpim.org/. It's free,
supports your phone and works well. I've used it for two years with my
LG VX4400 and hope it works with my LG VX4400's replacement, a Moto
V276. Just waiting for the data cable.

(I think your system's clock may be off, 'cause it looks like
    our posts are overlapping.)

As far as removing something your carrier has inserted (e.g.,
the animation), you're probably out of luck. You're talking
    about "hacking" the phone's ROM.

Regarding new tones, your carrier gives the thumbs up, or thumbs
down, to third parties that can do this type of thing.

I'll look around, but, if I were you, I wouldn't hold my breath!

    Crash,

The LG G4015 was one of the first phones it did support and according to
the site it is still supported. Below is from the Bitpim site:
    ________________________________________________________________
    LG G4015
    What works

Phonebook, wallpaper, ringers, calendar, call history, SMS. The SMS
feature supports text messages only and will silently ignore other parts
of the message. BitPim can autodetect this phone if it is connected to
the PC via a USB-to-Serial cable.
