    Hi Folks,

this is a frustration that I have had on my travel trips. It has been a
pain for me to remember to carry the power adapter and then avoid
    misplacing it during the trip.

I was wondering why, given the small factor of cell phone these days, a
builtin power adapter cannot be incorporated into the cell phone. I'm
sure that business users and/or people on the move would prefer to have
this instead of the other bunch of things (mp3 player, camera etc.
etc.) being added to a cell phone.

When the phone battery needs charging, such an inbuilt power adapter
can have its prongs extended and plugged into the socket. In case of an
incoming call, it could work thru a speaker phone and when the charging
is done, it could notify the owner.

Does anybody think such a product exists or there is a likeliness of it
    being available soon?

    Thanks,
    ~suraj

PS: The 'evil' but obvious answer to the subject line is that phone
companies make more moolah from accessories. Then the question becomes,
are there any less evil phone manufacturors out there?

Because of the small form factor of phones. No one would put up with a
larger phone that had an internal transformer and other circuitry, as
    well as plugs.

Car chargers are cheap. USB chargers are cheap. AC chargers are cheap.
