Heads up...if you have Tracfone you better check to see if you are
still in a home coverage area.
Many of the maps show changes now so what once was home coverage is now
roaming....effectively doubling the cost of your phone usage.
Nice move Tracfone!
While I am talking about Tracfone, anyone else having lots of problems
with their website and online help....we are having LOTS of problems.

Troll perhaps? (suspected this all along)
Other than the one case that you obviously know about, i.e., loss of local
TDMA network, what your proof?
The coverage maps at the TracFone website are worthless. Is that your
proof?

You wouldn't until notice your charges suddenly doubled...like it has
for a number of people I know.
"Troll perhaps? (suspected this all along) "
Nope. Are you a company shrill perhaps? (suspected this all along)

Look and you shall find JoshIII...you obviously know what I am talking
about...it isn't just ONE network or ONE location, is it?
"The coverage maps at the TracFone website are worthless. Is that your

Isn't that proof enough JoshIII? Or perhaps we should discuss the
worthless online service? Or the website that crashes almost daily? Or
the fact that MAJOR retailers are dumping Tracfone for other vendors?
Which one do you want to discuss first?

JoshIII laments:
Test Question 1: Do companies allow their employees (and shrills) to
participate in company sponsored promotions (give-aways, games, and
contests)?
Hint: Now that I think of it, I have heard of Radio Shack salesmen
referring customers that buy TracFones at their stores for the 100 free
minutes. I doubt seriously Radio Shack sells that many TracFones in a
month, since better prices can be found for them elsewhere.

Test Question 2: I'm curious, what are "a number of people you know" doing
about their diminishing local calling area coverage on their TracFones?
Obviously *NONE* of them have ever heard of the GSM (single rate) models
TracFone offers (1100, 2600, c155, c170).
Hint: You'll have to ask "a number of people you know" this one, but
beware! They will be in for quite a shock when you tell them the surprising
news about TracFone's single-rate option and models.

Re: TracFone Changing Coverage Maps
JoshIII attempts to deflect valid questions about Tracfone's known and
ongoing problems:.....
Test Question 1: Do companies allow their employees (and shrills) to
participate in company sponsored promotions (give-aways, games, and
contests)?
Answer : Happens all the time....but then again you already knew that.
Hint: As for being a company shrill JoshIII, why don't you just quit
trying to suck up email referrals from Usenet by dropping your
tagline....it would go a long way in establishing your credibility of
which you have little now.
Credibility or free minutes...which is it JoshIII?

Obviously *NONE* of them have ever heard of the GSM (single rate)

Answer: You forget to mention that the GSM phones have even LESS
coverage than the phones that they are replacing!!! What are they
doing....well they are dumping Tracfone for a better provider.
Hint: Suggesting that GSM is the answer to Tracfone's problems is not
the answer.....but then again you already knew that too.
Why do you not want to address the other known problems that users
experience every day?
So now a question for you....it's only fair.
Test Question #1: As you continue to sing the praises of Tracfone so
you can get Tracfone bonus minutes ... could you tell us who Tracfone's
best competitor is?
Hint :....Providing a NAME instead of trying to once again spin
Tracfone's problems away would go a long way in establishing your
credibility of which you have little now.
I forgot to mention.....if you fail to provide the name of Tracfone's
best competitor, you have proven my point.
And remember...no cheating. ;<)

I just bought one - a GSM model. I assume the roaming don't affect me?
Oh well... I spent $40 on the whole deal and they gave me until April 06
before I have to buy more units. If it don't work out, I'll look for
something else. -S

Re: TracFone Changing Coverage Maps
Yes it does.
Tracfone is trying to hide the fact that roaming charges occur by
calling it "single rate".
Ever stop to consider that the "single rate" might be at the roaming
rate that nobody can afford to pay?
If you were the company, would you select the high rate or the low rate
to charge customers?
And JoshIII...we are still waiting for that answer to who is the best
competitor to Tracfone? ;<)

Re: TracFone Changing Coverage Maps
Hmmm, Tracfone doesn't seem to be hiding anything on my phone when it
comes to
Roaming Charges...It lights up in big blinking capital letters when I'm
out if the normal calling area.
Sure I'd like it if TF had a larger calling area but since 95% of my
calls atre made withing the calling area its not a big deal,,for me
anyway.
Whats amazing is the number of people who expect the exact same service
from a prepaid cell phone a one of the majors. The prepaid cell is
ideal for someone who rarely uses the phone, wants to keep it in the
glove box for an emergency or the occasional call. .
BTW there is a great promo going on right now for Tracfone airtime
minutes: you can buy 200 minutes of airtime for the regular 49.95
however if you use promo code 58855 you will get and additional 250
minutes of airtime and an extended 60 days beyond what you already have
onn your phone. good thru the end of Dec.
