Samsung keeps changing the headset plug for its cell phones. Plantronics
does not list any headsets compatible with the Samsung SGH-E335. I would
like to use the Plantronics MX500 line of headsets. Has anyone used this
headset with this cell phone without damaging the plug? If so, which of
the MX500 headsets work correctly with the E335, the MX505 or the MX510-N1?

The E335 came with an inexpensive headset which has 3 rings on its 2.5mm
plug. Both the Plantronics MX505 and the MX510-N1 are also 2.5mm. The
MX505 has 2 rings and the MX510-N1 has 3 rings. However, the MX510-N1 is
    listed as a Nokia headset.

Be aware, using the wrong plug can permanently damage your cell phone. Do
not use any headset unless you are 100% sure it is compatible with your
    cellular phone.

    Somewhere around 15 Jan 2006 16:20:14 -0000, while reading alt.cellular, I
think I thought I saw this post from [email protected]er

This sounds like the same connector as my old Samsung SGH-x426. It looks a
lot like the Nokia, but is not compatible. I have a friend who has one, and
used a standard 1/8 inch headset and never knew there was a difference; I
had tried one, which worked, but had a lot of static, like a bad connection.
Neither phone had any problems, though, due to the wrong headset.

I think I saw an adapter for sale one while looking for the correct headset
    (maybe buy.com, but I don't remember).
