    Considered prepaid?

Beauty of prepaid: No contracts! Activate today, then
deactivate 2 weeks later, no penalty.

    1. Net10 Wireless
    - division of TracFone
    - GSM network only (Cingular/T-Mobile)
    - 10 cents/minute anywhere
    - Net10 has an interesting new addition to their
airtime card line up. A year of service with
1500 minutes for $150.00. That averages out
    to $12.50/month for 125 minutes a month.

    2. Page Plus Cellular:
    - uses the Verizon network
    - Inpulse brand phones from Walmart can be
purchased and activated with PagePlus for
less than $10 activation fee with 70 minutes
    airtime purchased from ebay.
    - for emergency use only users, PagePlus
averages out to $3/month to maintain
    active service.

    3. TracFone:
    - averages out to $10 /month for
    emergency only cellphone users.
    - they have CDMA and GSM models
    - use existing mainstream networks
such as Cingular, Verizon, Alltel, etc.,
    depending on model purchased
and availability in local calling area.
    - free refurbished phone deals and free
airtime promotions all the time from
    www.tracfone.com

Hey jeff you can check out http://www.letstalk.com/ you can compare all
the carriers in your area and make phone comparisons and price
comparisons. From the plan you have I dont know if you will find one
that will beat that, but your right abou TDMA being phased out. Soon
they will force you out of your TDMA sometimes they won't let you
upgrade to a new phone without upgrading your service. Good luck
