Have the Motorola TDMA V60i version tracfone and I need a zip code I can
    activate it in.

Just purchased it new from Amazon.com a few weeks ago.

Every zip I have tried so far will not allow me to activate it and customer
assistance just wants to send me a crappy V170 phone to replace it with.

Know of any zip codes that will work? Thanks, Bob

I'm in Northern California but as with every zip I've tried so far, 94086
    has failed as well.

I've tried the V170 and ended up giving it away it was so bad. The V60
series phones are vastly superior but apparently either do not support all
the signal formats or use a bigger chunk of the digital signal (which would
explain the excellent audio quality as well) Anyway I may be incorrect but
apparently tracfone doesn't want to activate anymore V60i's.

This is the message that comes back after you punch in your ESN and area
    code on Tracfones activation website

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    The following error has occurred.
There are no lines available in the ZIP Code that you entered.

On another footnote, I wonder if Tracfone's refusal to activate any new
V60i's has to do with the ability to track the location of the cellfone?
With all the terrorist stuff going on maybe the V60 series doesn't have some
of the newer tracking features that the current pool of phones be offered
    has?

Anyway, just a thought but it might be logical since so many bad guys are
buying pre-paid phones off the rack and using them for illegal or criminal
activities. Maybe Homeland Security is attempting to implement measures that
    allow better tracking of cellfones.

    v60i has two versions:
    1. v60i(t) - TDMA
    2. v60i(c) - CDMA

The TDMA network is being phased out and converted
to GSM, or just turned off. GSM may already exist
there for example. Either way your coverage most anywhere
    will be limited.

The TDMA network is already severely diminished nationally.

Why do you need to activate a TDMA cellphone at this point?

Agreed, TracFone needs to take off all references to TDMA models
on their coverage maps and phones lineup page, if they are not going
    to allow anymore TDMA activations.

Next time, buy your refurbished or used TracFone directly from
the www.tracfone.com website, so you can take advantage of
the free phone, free airtime, free shipping, Refer-A-Friend promotions.

In most of Texas, the V170 kicks ass.

    Towers are everywhere.
