Anyone here from the New Hampshire area that knows if Cingular's
coverage is any good here? I'm thinking about getting an iPhone, but
don't know if Cingular's service is good enough to warrant it (seems
like pretty much everyone in NH uses Verizon, and even that is pretty
spotty).
Thanks,
Alex

Since no one has chimed in with first-hand opinions, I suggest you check
out Dave Markson's excellent site: www.cellguru.net. He's from NH, IIRC,
and his site focuses on cellular in New England.
Good luck!

Before spending the big bucks on a first generation iPhone, at least try
a prepaid account on Cingular's network to evaluate coverage.
Also, remember that if most people in your area use Verizon, you'll no
longer be able to use MTM minutes to call them. In Northern California,
Verizon is also the most popular carrier (it has the best coverage by
a wide margin) and the result is that you can get by with a plan that
has a lot fewer peak minutes than would be needed on other carriers.
Don't get too excited about the iPhone. There's a lot of hype, but the
first generation has some serious design issues, including the
non-replaceable battery, the lack of a memory card slot, the omission of
high-speed data.
