I presently use net10 with a Nokia 2600. Net10 is satisfactory for my
uses and is cheap. I would like to use a wifi capable phone like an
unlocked Nokia e61i. The specs says Nokia e61i supports the GSM
850/1900 networks in the US same as the Nokia 2600.
Should I be able to use the Nokia e61i with Net10 by taking the SIM
card from the 2600 and putting it into the e61i?
What other difficulties might I encounter?
Assuming that I would be successful, would the Nokia e61i no longer be
"unlocked"?

JoshIII responds:
Won't work. Net10 and TracFone
SIMS are "locked" to and only work
with Net10 or TracFone IMEI(ESNs).
You might be able to use a TracFone
SIM in two different TracFone GSM
phones, but I seriously even doubt that
will work.
Net10 and TracFone phones have
special programming that handles the
accounting or minutes (units) used
and remaining. Any off-the-shelf
unlocked phone does not have this
programming.

Already indicated.

JoshIII adds:
The Nokia e61i would already be "locked" or "unlocked".
Just by adding a SIM (of any color) would not automatically
or magically unlock the phone if it was locked to begin with.
