I have a Motorola Verison km1 on the way, that I intend to use on the bell
    network in Canada.
Doing a bit of reading, I think I need to "unlock" the phone.
What is the easiest way to do this?
    Thanks

Even unlocked, you wont be able to use it.

Bell and Telus refuse to activate foreign ESN on their networks.

That would be the problem. I don't think Verizon does anything
to lock their phones (the service passwords generally seem to be
set to all-0's), but this won't help if the new carrier won't
    activate the phone.
