I know absolutely nothing about cellphones other than how to make a
call. A friend just got a LG model UX355. It takes pictures which
can be seen on the phone's screen. I asked him how to get them onto a
computer and he does not know. I looked at it, there are no plugs
such as a USB on a digital camera. There are no plugs at all, except
earphone and power. I am completely clueless how to get them to a
computer. I would have expected a USB plug.

Also, what is Bluetooth? It says that on the phone, but what does
    that do?

I am decidedly not a cell phone heavy (I've received four calls in my life on
mine) but did a little bit of searching for you despite having no familiarity
    with this particular phone.

There is, in fact, a USB cable marketed for the UX355, which tells me that
there OUGHT to be a jack somewhere on the phone! Having not found the manual
online, I really can't comment further. I also found web comments to the
effect that the owners had the right cable, but couldn't find any software to
deal with recognizing the phone as a USB device or for consequently
    transferring files.

On the other hand, I easily found a program called DataPilot Universal which
claims to do all this. Alas, it isn't freeware; the first site I pulled up
quoted forty bucks. But perhaps there are other options. I'm saying all this
because your observation about the lack of a USB connection would seem to be
    incorrect.

Bluetooth is a short-range wireless protocol typically used to connect
wireless headsets to cellular phones, among other applications.

Hope this helps a little, and that perhaps someone with more specific
    knowledge can chime in.

Bluetooth is a protocol that lets all sorts of devices talk to each other
without wires -- not just headsets.

Even in a cellphone bluetooth has many other uses besides just headsets.
It's also used to transfer files (pictures, phonebook entries, etc.) from
one phone to another, or to a PC, and also to tether the phone to a PC
when using the phone as a modem.

Steve's answer was right- even in cellphones BT isn't just for headsets.
Perhaps you should set your phaser on "apology," eh, Spock?

    Dear dumbass,

The question is "what is Bluetooth," and I answered it. Stop being such a
    dork. LOL, OMG, teehee.
