    1. Is there an online manual for the Audiovox sprint 6700 phone ?

    2. How do I sync the contacts, calendar etc to desktop ? I installed
Mobile Center on my PC and teh PC is connecting to phone OK but when I try
to set conenction setting options it won't let me checkmark contacts,
calendar etc ( a tooltip tells me there is no MS OUTLOOK installed). I
assume it is referring to phone, as there is no outlook on it (only word,
excel etc). and I do hve Outlook on the desktop. working properly. Does 6700
remove the Outlook from the phone or never installed or whatever ? How do I
sync the outlook on desktop to contacts, calendar etc on the phone ?

    Thanks

Actually Outlook IS on the phone- the messaging, contats ad calendar apps
are referred to collectively as "Pocket Outlook." The error message is
referring to Outlook on the PC, which WMDC believes is not installed.

Try running "detect and repair" (or whatever it's called on your version of
Outlook) then try to resync. If that fails, reinstall Outlook from the
original CD and try again. Sometimes if WMDC is installed after Outlook,
it doesn't "find" the Outlook installation .

You might also consider posting these questions at microsoft.public.pocketpc,
which deals with Windows Mobile devices. I've crossposted this there to
let some of the experts there chime in with suggestions.

    Good luck!

You are 200% correct . I am impressed you did not take my word that the
problem is on 6700 and send me on a wild goose chase any it happens on
    forums many times

After I posted , I tested with another partition and got a problem error
with Outlook on desktop. Then I realized what you said......the problem is
with the desktop not with the 6700... Then I thought it may be the outllok
    version .
I have 2000 . When I checked they claim it will work even with Outlook 98.
Anyway I loaded Outlook XP (2002) on one partition and it works (syncs)
now. I have not tried reinstalling Outlook 2000 on other partition yet. We
    will see.

IIRC, Activesync (on XP) will, but WMDC (on Vista) requires a newer version
    of Outlook.
