Re: How to convert DVD to iPhone (Windows)

One of the best features of iPhone is that it is the best iPod Apple has
created. iPhone has a memory of 8GB, which is more than enough to store
multiple movies. So a lot of iPhone users are looking for methods to put
their DVD movies on iPhone. There are many DVD to iPhone converters on
the market, most of which are for Windows users. And there are not very
many choices for Mac OS users. Among the few Mac DVD to iPhone
converters, Wondershare '*DVD to iPhone Converter for Mac*'
(http://tinyurl.com/2hj9dy) is a very good choice. It has an interesting
Mac style and is very easy to use. The following three steps are all it
takes to convert DVD to iPhone with this software:

    [image:
    http://www.iphone-converter-soft.com...rface_911.jpg]
1.Click the Load DVD button, select the folder of your DVD movie, and
click OK. If the movie is on your disc drive, you can just select the
    drive and click OK.
2.Or click the Load IFO button, open the folder of your DVD movie, and
you will find two folders in it: AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. Open the
VIDEO_TS folder, select all the IFO files, and then click OK.
3.After the movie is imported, you can see all the chapters and titles
in it, and then you can check the ones you want to convert. If you want
to convert the whole movie, you can just keep all the titles or chapters
    checked.
    Step 2: Output Settings
    [image:
    http://www.iphone-converter-soft.com...tings_562.jpg]
1.Before the conversion, there are a few settings you should make:
2.Select the iPhone Video format from the Format drop-down list
(Besides iPhone video and iPhone audio, this software also supports
outputting videos and audios for iPod and Apple TV).
3.Click the Settings button to set encoding settings including video
resolution, frame rate, bit rate and video encoder, audio encoding
settings including sample rate, channel, bit rate and audio encoder.
4.Name each title/chapter in the Output Filename field, and select the
subtitle and audio track for the titles/chapters.
5.Note: You can check the “Merger into one file” option to join all the
selected DVD titles/chapters into one file instead of creating a
    separated file for each title/chapter.
    Step 3
Click the Start button to start the conversion. And now you can just go
talk a walk and wait till the conversion is completed. After that, you
can just transfer the created files to your iPhone wth iTunes.

Wow! I thought the iPhone was EASY to use!

    N800 instructions:
1 - Unplug 8GB SDHC from N800 slot under handle and insert into USB
adapter because computer is too old to support 8GB SD cards. XP mounts
    as external USB hard drive.
2 - Use file manager to clean old movies off card, then click/drag new
movies from Usenet to card cursing card is only 8GB and only 10 to 13
    DivX movies will fit.
3 - Use SAFE REMOVAL utility to force XP to complete writing to card
    before dismounting it. (Stupid Windoze!)
4 - Move card to N800 and DON'T insert card upside down like last time.
Close door so N800 will see door close and mount it (hotswap on Linux!)
5 - Boot rplayer cool little player hackers ported to Maemo, select
    movie, click PLAY button.
6 - Check beer and pretzel supply before beginning credits complete.
Replenish before plot starts, about minute 10 on new movies.
7 - Shut off SELLphone so Voicemail takes calls until heros win war and
lesser heros are dead before bad guys killed by main hero actor.
(If showing girl at bar/restaurant/party, play the chick flick and tilt
N800 so she has to sit close to see picture....(c
8 - ..after movie...Pick which voicemails to answer. Kill the rest.

Ask self why everybody says Linux is impossible to operate......??

Now to be fair (and I'm sure you want to be fair..), your instructions
should also include the process of converting a DVD into a DivX movie
    file...

Well, not really. You DO have to use WinRAR to put the rar file pieces
together once you download them from alt.binaries.movies.divx on
    usenet....

    Do movies also come on DVDs?? Are they free, too??...(c;

    How silly.

Once you WinRAR the parts the output file is an XVID or DivX movie ready
for play with MP3 stereo sound and a beautiful picture, unless it's the
first ripped copy from a Russian or Dutch movie house someone made with a
video camera. Even some of those are watchable, if you don't mind the
occasional cough, the audience laughing, someone getting up to go pee
between the camera and the screen, and the huge theatres reverberation
making the audio echo pretty bad. Mostly, that's like sitting in the
theatre on opening night, but with less crowds. Sometimes they have
Russian subtitles, sometimes Dutch, but less so as time goes by.

    alt.binaries.movies.divx

More movies than you can ever watch in the rest of your lifetime.....All
it takes is a little learning, a binary usenet client like Grabit from
    www.shemes.com and WinRAR from rarlabs.com.

Er, ah, you'll need a few thousand DVD+Rs to store them on. Damned
computers run out of hard drive space fast! Luckily, in Divx, you can
put from 3 to 6 movies on ONE DVD+R, for around 18c off the net....if you
    wanna keep it for later.

Sometimes Usenet screws up, but less every year on the major servers.
For that, you download the PAR files and use Quickpar, a free program, to
correct errors in the pieces WinRAR doesn't like.

    How sad.....

With mplayer installed on a Nokia N800 or N810, you copy the DivX movie you
downloaded off alt.binaries.movies.divx to the 8GB SD card, plug it into
the Linux tablet, boot mplayer the hackers ported to the little Linux box
    and press PLAY.

The widescreen movie plays on the 800 pixel wide screen, with stereo sound,
of course, coming out of the Nokia stereo speakers....to the delight of the
    people around you...(c;

WARNING - Don't play any Harry Potter movies at Chucky Cheeze! I nearly
lost the tablet at a kid's birthday party! Chucky Cheeze, Home of the
    Cardboard Pizza.
