I have a Hauppauge ATSC/analog USB TV dongle for my widescreen Gateway
laptop. No USB accessory uses more power or gets hotter in operation.
I was sitting in a diner watching the NFL on the laptop last fall. The
diner was nearly empty so the cook was also watching.
A guy in a Comcast shirt drove his Comcast truck in and came in for a late
lunch. He spotted us watching TV on the laptop and immediately came over
to ask where I was getting the signal that was making the perfect digital
picture.
"Comcast has a big leak in that cable amp right there.", I said,
nonchalantly, pointing to the coax running by out front.
He got pissed and stomped out without his lunch to report it. The stupid
ass seemed unaware broadcast TV still functions WITHOUT Comcrap's approval
or payment from the little magnetic mount whip antenna stuck to the top of
the steel napkin holder.
We all had a good laugh, but our team lost.
Alltel has 25 channels of MobiTV for $9.95/mo. I'd buy it if MobiTV would
get off their asses and modify their software so it would run in LANDSCAPE
mode so you could see the picture on my MotoROKR Z6m. What they deliver
now, the picture is the size of your thumbnail! My pleas for landscape
like the camera in the phone displays go ignored....
