As you can see I am overwhelmed with all the choices
I would like your input or viewpoint on
Where do you buy your phone ? Verizon or Other?? and which Phone??
These claim its free
http://www.letstalk.com/product/prom...vicePrId=30896
and Verizon says its $99
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/s...edPhoneId=3412
am I missing something or should I definitely be buying from the Other
and if so which other do you recommend Here is another
http://www.tmiwireless.com/verizon/
Most importantly I want Bluetooth compatible, a good speakerphone, email
access in an emergency, the navigator seems nice ... music is not
important a good camera would be nice but not a necessity.
I have a $100 credit at Verizon as my 2 years are up
A few that I have been pondering but I am sure there are better choices.
Samsung SCH-u410 Phone with a Free Bluetooth Headset
LG enV
ALL input is appreciated
Thank You
I would rather hear from the users than the sellers

Do you really NEED a new phone? My current phone is only about six
months old but my previous two phones lasted 4-5 years each!
If you do need a new phone, you don't need to buy it from Verizon. You
DO need to buy one that's technically compatible with Verizon's systems.

Re: Where do you buy your phone ? Verizon or Other?? and which Phone??
Hi Richard,
Thank You for your input.
Yes Definitely need a new phone and I feel with the $100 credit I can
get a much better one for that plus maybe an extra $20.
The battery on this one is toast and the bluetooth headset will make
life much easier. The camera on this one is bad and the navigator
capability would be nice to have as I will be traveling allot this summer.
The only real benefit I see to buying direct from a Verizon store is
that if I have a problem with the phone I can simply take it back in to
a store and replace it .... easier than sending back to online vendor
etc....
SO with that said it is a big benefit really as I will not have a
landline as a backup phone ..
Once I activate a new phone will my old one be obsolete or can I still
use it?
Thanks Again
Jan

You will be required to sign a new, two year, contract with Verizon
Wireless! A battery is a lot cheaper than a new contract!!

It depends on whether you get a new number with your new phone. If the
new phone has the same number, your old one becomes a "brick" or a
paperweight! If you get a new number, your old phone still works and
you still have to pay the bill for it each month until you ask Verizon
Wireless discontinue service.

Re: Where do you buy your phone ? Verizon or Other?? and which Phone??
I see your points and they are GOOD. I am trying to cut costs as most of
us are these days.
I was contemplating the new contract $99 each month for unlimited minutes.
I do require unlimited minutes and thought this sounded like a good plan.
Do you have any input here. I am assuming you do not have a contract or
perhaps you do not require alot of minutes. Not sure just guessing
I appreciate your input .. greatly
Thanks,
Jan

I do have an almost new two year contract. I bought two RAZR V3m back
in December. They replaced a pair of five year old ST9868W phones; the
batteries were going and buying new batteries for phones that old did
not look like a good idea. When the contract expires, I'll live without
one until we need new phones again.
I don't need a whole lot of minutes. I do need to be able to get the
police, fire department, an ambulance, a tow truck or some combination
thereof. It's also handy when I've lost my wife in the supermarket;
just hit the button and find out she's in isle 17!
Different strokes for different folks!
