I am in a "dead zone" with my ATT cell phone..Driving just a few miles away,
the phone works fine and works over most of the country just fine.
Are there add-on devices that I can use..on the phone; on my car; on my
house..that will REALLY improve reception? Any LINKS to such devices would
also be helpful
thanks Rich

You need an external antenna! Those stickers are junk!
The simple answer? NO. They are complete junk. I have tested them, and none of them work. Plus the gold paint, isn't even conductive. So how can it act as an antenna. You can buy them bulk on ebay for really cheap, but it will be a big waste of money. If you want a working antenna, then you will have to buy either a wireless repeater system. Or an external antenna with a cable-adapter. i had a repeater system that i purchased for $200 that worked pretty well. I had the antenna in my attic in the slot where the vent is at and where the signal was strong. I also have an external antenna that works well.
Here is a site with some of the systems. You can find better prices though. The Stick-Antennas don't normally work very well. AlternativeWireless Cell Phone Antennas and Power Boosters Cellular Amplifiers | Wireless Extenders | Nextel Nokia Motorola Samsung Kyocera Ericsson Sony Qualcomm Sanyo
The antenna I use is Freedom Antenna(R) From ARC Wireless | Improve Cell Phone Reception . It works with my modem card, but I haven't tried it on my cell phone yet. I found it really cheap on Ebay. These types of antenna need to be connected to your phone. You should have a little rubber piece on the back of your phone. That would be an external antenna port.
Also, if you buy a repeater, you need to buy a system that will work with your cell phones frequency. AT&T uses both 800Mhz and 1900Mhz, so you might want to see what towers they use in your area. This site has some links on it that might help. I haven't tried them though.
