    Can the IPhone run Mac OS X programs? Can I add new programs to it? Does it run programs from Palm, Symbian, Windows?

    Most of those programs are not easily run, but pdfs yes, and you can open attachments to your emails. The app store contains thousands of apps. Depends on what you want to do, some people jail break so they can run non-apple programs.
